Are you Superstitious? It's Issue # 13 Coming Your Way...

We strongly suggest that you read this issue while doing one or all of the following: stand under a ladder and break a mirror as a black cat crosses your path on the 13th floor...or maybe spill a little salt.

I Gather Speed, You're So Lucky With Me...

There are many, many questions about when Pearl Jam will tour again...the east coast, Europe, specific places like the Brixton Academy. Arrangements are being worked on and there are high hopes to do the east coast in Summer or Fall, nothing else so far. We're waiting for word. While we're all waiting for PJ shows there will be some tasty morsels to chew on...

Tones And Rhythms...

  • The long awaited Home Alive double album compilation will be released Feb. 20th. For those who think CDs are like bad acid, it will be released on vinyl 3-4 weeks later. Viva la vinyl! Pearl Jam performs a song previously recorded by the High Numbers (The Who) called Leaving Here. This album is sure to be one powerful piece of artistry. We've been telling you the lineup of some of the artists who have generously donated their time and talent...here are a few more who contributed along with Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Soundgarden...The Posies, Jello Biafra, Mia Zapata, Joan Jett with Evil Stig, Love Battery and Kristen Barry. There will be Home Alive shows in Seattle on Feb. 16 & 17; in San Francisco on Feb. 28 and in New York City on March 1 & 2 with performances by various contributors. For more info about the Home Alive organization and how you can help to raise awareness regarding self-defense in your own community, contact them at Home Alive, 1202 E. Pike St., #1127, Seattle, WA 98122. (206) 233-8671. This project is dedicated to the late Mia Zapata of The Gits. "We still want you to Get Home, and be Home Alive."

  • You can visit a cool web site and read more about how the Surfrider Foundation is working to protect the world's waves and beaches. Pearl Jam has contributed $50,000 to their cause and will have a song on a benefit record tentatively titled MOM.

  • Pearl Jam is not the type of band that will rush an album out into the stores just to make money off of their fans. We all know that. The news we have about their new fourth album is that they're working on it right now and hope to release it in early summer. We'll keep you posted.

  • River of Deceit is the Mad Season track on the soon-to-be-released CD, Bite Back: Live at the Crocodile. It will be available nationally.

Mt. Graham Preservation...

Pearl Jam has written a letter to President Clinton expressing their thanks for vetoing legislation that would have allowed the University of Arizona to put a THIRD telescope on sacred Apache land on Mt. Graham. If you wish to read the letter and add your voice to the cause, you can visit the site for more information at the WebActive site.

Don't Hold Your Breath...

Exhale now please. It doesn't look like the Pearl Jam home video will be released anytime soon...it's got to be great or they won't put it out. A few other things that aren't happening immediately are the release of the new Brad album and we tried, but we haven't heard anything new yet about Jeff's side project with Robbie Robb.
