We Won't Be Fooled Again...

Add these to your list and don't forget them next April 1st -- a certain fast food place took out a full page ad, but didn't really buy the Liberty Bell, Pearl Jam is not breaking up, and Eddie Vedder won't be singing I Can't Drive 55 with Van Halen. The radio DeeJays had a regular riot this April Fool's Day. We really didn't need the extra rumors!

Did Someone Say New Album?

We've gotten a lot of questions about the new album and we've gotten true-to-form answers. The follow up album to Vitalogy will be out this summer and that's all they're going to say for now!

Now What About The Tour And Tix?

It's still a bit early for show info but we are getting closer. When the U.S. showdates are set, the Ten/Vitalogy Health Club members will have first chance at Pearl Jam tickets. The process will be as before with current fan club members receiving an order form some time before the shows. Don't wait if you're a member -- make sure that the Ten/VHC has your up-to-date address now. See below on how to contact them. No word yet on who the ticketseller will be but it won't be Ticketmaster.

Tones & Rhythms...

  • Stone contributed to Thermadore's recently released, Monkey On Rico where he plays on four songs and sings on two (Pushing and Anton).

  • Longer versions of Long Road and Face of Love have been released on Dead Man Walking, The Score from the soundtrack to the movie, Dead Man Walking. This is different from the earlier Dead Man Walking release which featured music inspired by the movie. These two songs are duets between Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Eddie Vedder.

  • Three Fish is the name of Jeff's side project and they should be releasing an album soon.

  • Pearl Jam will contribute a song to a compilation benefit album entitled MOM with album proceeds going to the Surfrider Foundation. MOM should be released around the beginning of summer.

~ Q&A ~ Q&A ~ Q&A ~

Q: Will Pearl Jam's appearance on David Letterman be announced ahead of time?
A: Yes, it will.

Q: ...or will it be a surprise appearance?
A: Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if we told you now would it?

Q: I heard on a radio station that Pearl Jam is playing Letterman April 12, which is Letterman's birthday. True?
A: No.

Q: Ok, not that it would be a surprise show if you answer this but if Pearl Jam does Letterman can we expect a "surprise" show somewhere in a NYC club?
A: Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if we told you now would it? [They seem to like this answer. - RP]

Q: Is the I Got Id on the upcoming album going to be a different recording than the one on MerkinBall?
A: It won't be on the new album.

Q: Someone posted on AOL under the name of MadCease and said he was Mike McCready. Was that really Mike?
A: Yes.

Q: I'm a HUGE Brazilian Pearl Jam fan! I would to know when are they coming to play at my country (Brazil)?
A: Within a year.

Q: I just heard this from a friend and I have no idea where he heard it, but he said he heard Pearl Jam might be playing at the Milwaukee Summerfest this summer. Has anyone else heard anything about this and is he right??
A: No.

Q: I was wondering when PJ does go back on tour if they would like to play here at Penn State? Both the 100,000 seat stadium and the 16,000 seat Jordan Center are not run by Ticketmaster. I could help set this up if you would like.
A: Thank you, we'll see.

Q: There has been a lot of talk on Missoula radio stations about a surprise show coming up. Is p-j going to play an "unannounced" show in Missoula, MT soon? or how about Chicago?
A: No to both.

Q: What is this new single I keep hearing, "Leaving Here"? It also appears on a couple of my live shows. The guys from PJ didn't write it, so is it a cover on a soundtrack or is it a cover that will be on their new album?
A: Pearl Jam's "Leaving Here" is a cover of a Holland/Dozier/Holland song that was previously done by the High Numbers who later became known as The Who. The song is available on the Home Alive compilation that was released at the end of February.
