Cowabunga!

We've been listening to Pearl Jam's cover of Gremmie Out of Control from MOM, the Surfrider benefit album and can't get it out of our heads! It's one of those songs that you keep hearing after it's finished. When Stone (the gremmie) yells "Cowabunga!" we completely lose it and head for the beach. So, now we're back and it's the Fourth of July here in America and the fireworks are starting in more ways than one.

No one has been asking about the new album so we have no info for you.

Psych!! Ready? Here we go...

Pearl Jam is putting the finishing touches on No Code, their fourth album. Eddie Vedder and Barry Ament have been slaving away over the artwork and we should all be marking our calendars for an August 27th release. Remember though that things change: the seasons, the tides, your underwear, and yes, even Pearl Jam plans sometimes. There will be a single, Who You Are released before the album. It's looking like the end of July for that. (July 30th release date.) To answer some other questions: there are no plans for a CD-ROM but there are plans to try and do something on TV. These are still being worked out.

Please Stand By The Shore...

The shifting currents will be bringing Pearl Jam for shows on the East Coast and Europe this fall. England and Italy will be two of the stops in November. Mexico is a possibility for a winter visit and they plan on visiting South America also. (not sure when on that yet.)

Sweet Sounds...

  • Jeff Ament's other band, Three Fish, has released their self-titled album, filmed videos for it in Cairo and Istanbul and is presently touring during July in North America. Jeff, Robbi Robb and Richard Stuverud will finish up at the KNDD End Fest on August 3rd at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton, WA.

  • $10,000 Gold Chain, Mike McCready's side project with Mari Ann Braeden and Tyler Willman of Green Apple Quick Step has a song on the Cable Guy movie sound track named Oh! Sweet Nuthin released May 21st. Mike also lends his talent to the song Dying Days for Dust, the Screaming Trees new album released June 25th.

  • MOM was released July 2nd on SurfDog Records. All proceeds are going to the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization that works to protect the world's waves and beaches.

A: No, they were only released in the U.S. recently but they were originally released in Canada.

A: Eddie does cameos on "American Jesus" and "Watch It Die."

Q: Is there any possibility Pearl Jam will perform in Indonesia? Or at least, Southeast Asia (again)?

A: No.

Q: Has Loosegroove, the label that PJ guitarist Stone Gossard founded in the fall of 1994 in conjunction with Sony Music, been dropped from the Sony roster?
A: There's a different deal - still working together.

A: "Smoke More Posies" [ahem, edited answer-RP]

Q: Where can I get the old Xmas singles?

Ten Club/Tix...

Q: Will all Ten Club members get first shot at tickets for all shows? We weren't given a chance for Soldier Field tickets last year.
A: Yes.

Q: If you have any concert dates for England or France, please let me know. Also, would Ten Club members get first chance at those tickets?
A: Yes, they will get first shot.

Q: I heard a rumor that when the fan club sells tickets they will only be offered to people who were members of the Ten/Vitalogy Health Club for at least a year.
A: You still have a couple of weeks to become a member and get the chance at tickets.

Q: How will the fan club contact us for an opportunity to buy tickets?
A: You will see. [They're not quite ready to announce this yet. -RP]
