It's 1997 and we're baaaackk...

Pearl Jam is back from their tour and the Rumor Pit is again ready to go! Now that the holidaze have ended, it's time to get back to work having fun. This new year looks like another busy one for Pearl Jam and their fans with lots of great music on the way, a new tour and who knows what else? Well, we'll try to keep you up on the what else...

Now Off We Go With Music News...

  • In No Code singles news, Hail, Hail/Black, Red, Yellow isn't going to be released in the U.S. Instead, U.S. jammers can expect to find Off He Goes/Dead Man ...to be released soon.

  • Eddie has done a spoken word track of beat poet Jack Kerouac's "Hymn" on the upcoming Jack Kerouac tribute album.

  • Stone's side project, Brad, is still busy recording their second album and we're looking forward to that being released this year.

  • Mike McCready's new side project, Tuatara, with Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Barrett Martin (Mad Season) and other friends, will be releasing an album soon. We're not sure yet about a tour following the release.

  • There are going to be compilation albums released of live music from Neil Young's Bridge School benefit shows and it's likely that Pearl Jam will be a featured artist on both Neil's release and an upcoming Sony release.

I Will Get Up And I Will Run...

The fan club holiday single has been mailed out. So run, dash, jump and vault over to your record player to spin, spin your Olympic Platinum! Let's all sing like Whitneee! The b-side is a great live version of Smile, taped in Barcelona, Spain on 11/21/96 and should be in your hands at this very moment or some time thereafter...

    Ooooohhh, But There's More

Pearl Jam will be releasing even more new music this year. We're also told they 'kinda' have enough new music for a new album and it's 'kinda' harder edged. Only time will tell! Let no Pearl Jam album be released before its time!

    Please Don't Make Me Explain...

When we asked about all of the specific locations you sent in for the upcoming summer tour, we got a yes on Massachusetts and St. Louis and a LOT of "hope so" answers on the other locations. We know there's a lot of planning still going on and it's just too early to say exactly when, where, with whom, (we know why) or how yet. With all the cities mentioned as possibilities, it's looking good that they could be doing shows near you if you're in the U.S. or Canada. We're sorry but it looks like the Australian and South American shows that were planned are being considered for a later tour now.

We'd like to remind you that it's very important to make sure you're a current member of the Ten Club and your up-to-date address is on record with them if you plan on taking advantage of upcoming ticket offers through the fan club. Your expiration date is printed on the mailing label of your fan club single. You can contact them online at tenclub1@aol.com.

    Rumors, Rumours, Rumors...

PEARL Rumor: Pearl Jam is totally against the whole moshing/crowd surfing scene. I have heard E.V. talk about it in various live shows.
JAM Fact: Yes, too many assholes don't think about what they are doing.

A MAD Rumor: Mad Season is changing their name, getting a new singer and Mark Lanegan is singing on one disc of a double-disc Mad Season release.
    MAD Fact: No.
