All Those Yesterdays...

Voters For Choice Remember back to all those yesterdays when there was a Rumor Pit? We're baaaack! We've been keeping very busy with the tour and Pearl Jam's home video, Single Video Theory! In case you missed it (and the surrounding bs...er, brouhaha), Pearl Jam's terrific home video was released on August 4th in the U.S. It features an inside look at band rehearsals, a handstand, attack of the killer microphone, laughing, lots of smiling faces, flying v's, and some charming, at times hilarious, interview clips with each band member talking about the band's history and music. SVT will be available in DVD and, in some countries, on laserdisc. Confirmed release dates for countries other than the U.S. are proving to be elusive at the moment...we'll keep trying.

Don't You Think You Oughta Rest?

No Way! Now with shows from the first leg of the summer tour under our belts, we're itching for the second leg to start and it all begins again on August 17th - for all those lucky ones going to the shows...hail, hail! The complete tour schedule can be found in Tour with a listing of shows and confirmed openers. News on recently added shows: On Sept. 19th, Pearl Jam will again play a benefit at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. We're happy to announce that Hovercraft will be opening for Pearl Jam! Proceeds will go to Voters For Choice, the nation's largest non-partisan and independent pro-choice political action committee. After visiting Canada and east coast cities in the U.S., the summer tour will end with Pearl Jam and Rancid in West Palm Beach, Florida at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre on Sept. 22nd and 23rd. After which, we can start asking all over again, "When's the new tour/album?"

Freeze Frame...

  • Is Pearl Jam coming to Europe "within a year" still holding true? Yes, it is and they are hoping to come to South America soon too.
  • Side projects? (Brad, Disinformation and Three Fish) No release dates and/or possible tour news to report on that front.
  • A third single from Yield? There isn't one planned. The rumored In Hiding single was a radio release.

Rewind...

  • The Chicago Cab sound track is due out August 25th and features Pearl Jam's "Who You Are" and "Hard To Imagine."
  • Pearl Jam's head of security wants you! Pete wants you to ask for him if you have any trouble getting your non-pro, audio-taping equipment into Pearl Jam's shows. (no video)
  • There's a terrific interview with Jeff in the August issue of Bass Player magazine.
  • On Sept. 6, per RockonTV.com, catch the rerun of the 4/16/94 appearance of PJ on SNL on Comedy Central.

Pause...

We would like to offer our congratulations and introduce you to the new team over at the Ten Club. Tim and Krista, stand up and take a bow! Tim's taking over the helm of the Ten Club, and Krista, whom many of you have already met, has been on board for about 7 months now. They are the ones to help you with your fan club needs (how to join, membership info, merchandise, Ten Club tix, artichokes, etc..). A brand spankin' new newsletter is in the works. Look for that in about 6-8 weeks.
