This newsletter was created as a direct link to the fans. If you would like to ask a question about Pearl Jam, the Vitalogy Health Club asks that you please direct your questions to DigitalKat or OfTheSea. Ready? We have a lot of new items to report so we're diving into the Pit!

Oh Where Oh Where Can Pearl Jam Be?

more legs At the moment, they're everywhere and doing a variety of musical things. Look for them to surface together again in September to continue working on their seventh release. There's no working title or release date yet to report but we're happy to announce that Tchad Blake will be producing. His credits are a mile long and include such distinguished artists as Crowded House, Fishbone, Mathew Sweet, Tom Waits, Los Lobos, Sheryl Crow, X, and Tim Finn. What's this? Add Spinal Tap to the list! ha! When will the new album be out? They had hoped to get it out in 1999 but now it's going to be 2000.

Appearances...

The year 2000 is looking busy for places they want to tour -- they're talking about visiting Oz, Europe, South America, South Africa, Canada and the U.S. but there are no final decisions yet. We do have one very special Pearl Jam appearance to pass along! Once again they'll add their support to a very worthwhile cause by playing Neil Young's 1999 Bridge School Benefit.

Busy As Beavers...

As usual, the guys have been busy with their individual projects: Jeff's amazing side project, Three Fish, finishes up their schedule at the W.O.M.A.D. Festival on July 30th, and Ed's been popping up all over the place...here an Ed, there an Ed, everywhere an Ed Ed. He's been teaming up with the C Average guys to play some great sets at the Tibetan Freedom Concert, opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers for the M.A.P. Benefit in Hollywood, and doing a few small club shows along the way. Now what?

Here's what: Look for Ed and Pete Townshend on the Late Show with David Letterman this Wednesday, July 28th...check your local listings for details and set those VCRs! For those of you sniffing out those rumors of an after-Letterman secret appearance somewhere...we wish you good luck. There *is* going to be one.

Could there be more? Why yes there is! Ed will again be appearing at this year's show to benefit Chicago's Maryville Academy. Also, Stone is working on a Loosegroove release with former Urge Overkill's Nash Kato and Mike has been busy with the Rockfords album. The Rockfords' release is expected later this year.

Some Rumors Never Die Dept.

Remember when we mentioned that Pearl Jam will not be playing this year's Reading Festival. Guess what? They are still not and will not be playing the Reading Festival. Asking again will only result in a hideous torture for the people telling you that rumor and brain spasms for us. ;)

Tie A String On Your Finger...
