Touring Band 2000

Turn It Up!
A little type-written request in the letter featured on the Pearl Jam: Touring Band 2000 DVD sleeve said, "Please play this movie loud." Apparently you are, because we're receiving complaints from your family members, dogs, cats, pet turtles and neighbors. heh heh...just kidding! But we're not kidding when we say, "Congratulations to everyone!" Pearl Jam: Touring Band 2000 has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Music Video chart this week. (5.26.01 - and now three weeks in a row.)

For those still waiting to play it loud, an updated list of international release dates will be reposted here as soon as it becomes available. The European release date for the DVD and VHS is now June 25th due to the delivery delay of the PAL master following the U.S. delay.

Head For The Ark, Noah!
There's been a flood of rumors about Pearl Jam appearing in concert this year. i.e., Edgefest or Summersault in Canada, 4th of July in Central Park, a festival in Argentina this September, a big concert in Israel this August. They're just false rumors - Pearl Jam will not be at these shows so let's make these rumors disappear as fast as free posters at a Pearl Jam DVD preview.

At The Bridge...
An early heads up: Pearl Jam is planning an appearance for this year's annual Bridge School Benefit concert in Mountain View, CA this fall. This will be the sixth appearance by a member or members of Pearl Jam in support of this wonderful organization that helps children with severe speech and physical impairments to communicate. For more info please see http://www.bridgeschool.org/.

~Q&A~Q&A~Q&A~Q&A~

Q: I think there's only two instrumentals on the Touring Band 2000 DVD. Isn't there supposed to be three?
A: "Thunderclap" is in "the Cities" section, "Foldback" and "Harmony" are #1 and #2 in "the Band" section.

Q: Will there still be a DVD Preview on PBS?
    A: Yes, in the summer.

Q: I was surprised that the original 3 videos (Alive, Even Flow & Jeremy) weren't included on the new DVD. Are there any plans on releasing them on DVD format? The versions of Alive and Even Flow are amazing. I especially love the extended Even Flow...to be honest, it's what hooked me on the band.
A: Maybe the unedited version of Jeremy.

Q: The premiere broadcast presentation of "Touring Band 2000" was apparently sponsored by Volvo and Mastercard. Far be it from me to pick on anyone, I don't really care who pays for airtime but, out of idle curiosity, what's up with that? Is it a VH1 thing? Why'd Pearl Jam go for that?
A: We had nothing to do with the ads on VH1.

Q: I work at Camelot music and this is what I found out today. Listed on the brand new upcoming releases sheet.... Pearl Jam- (ten) year anniversary. The date is listed as August 7.
A: This project is on the back burner for now.

Q: I heard something very disturbing on the radio. Does Eddie have cancer?! If so, is he gonna be ok?
A: That's Eddie Van Halen who's been fighting cancer. We hear he's doing better now and we wish him well.
