Once again Pearl Jam will be recording and releasing each individual show from the 2003 tour in its entirety as an official bootleg. Unlike the 2000 bootleg series, the 2003 bootlegs will not be available in stores. Currently, the band plan to make them available only at the following URL addresses:

Reminders...

  • The second U.S. single from Riot Act is "Save You/Other Side" and is now due for release in the U.S. on February 11. "Other Side" is a new song written by Jeff. For those outside the U.S. the second single from Riot Act will be "Love Boat Captain" with b-sides, "Other Side" and "Love Boat Captain (live)" from the Dec. 6, 2002 Showbox show in Seattle. No definite release date on that one yet.
  • The long awaited Ramones tribute album, titled "We're A Happy Family - A Tribute To The Ramones," is currently scheduled to be released on February 11, 2003. This project by Rob Zombie features various artists including Eddie w/ Zeke on "I Believe in Miracles." The album's liner notes are written by Stephen King. Sounds fantastic!
  • Look for an Ed Vedder cameo appearance on the new Cat Power album, "You Are Free." It'll be released on CD and double vinyl on February 18, 2003.
  • No new news yet on Pearl Jam's rarities album still scheduled for release on Epic this year. It'll be a mix of live and studio material recorded on two CDs.

~Q&A~Q&A~Q&A~Q&A~

Q: Will Boom tour (Australia/Japan and North American legs) with the band since his work is so much a part of the new album and if not do you know if Brendan would fill in?
    A: Planning on BOOM!

Q: How come the band never, or rarely if ever, use acoustic guitars on stage? it seems like Stone always uses an electric guitar with an acoustic sounding effects pedal, which is always noticable when they play "Daughter", "Small Town", etc.
A: You won't be able to say that again.

Q: Were any songs re-recorded for the rarities album? Which?
    A: Not yet.

Q: Will the four Seattle shows from 2002 be released on bootleg?
    A: Not right now.

April 3, 2003 - Statement from Pearl Jam released to press

There were close to 12,000 people at the April 1st Denver show. It's possible two dozen left during encore but it was not noticeable amongst the 11,976 who were loudly applauding and enjoying the evening's music. It just made a better headline to report otherwise. [You'll note the writer doesn't mention this in his review of the show from the day prior. See "Pearl Jam Show Will Make a Great CD" by Mark Brown, Rocky Mountain News. And it is little more than a mention in any of the show reviews.] review, review

Dissension is nothing we shy away from – it should just be reported about more accurately. Ed's talk from the stage centered on the importance of freedom of speech and the importance of supporting our soldiers as well as an expression of sadness over the public being made to feel as though the two sentiments can't occur simultaneously.

March 29, 2003 - It's Time!

The first show is on April 1st in Denver, Colorado and we just want to give those of you who are attending shows on the first leg one last reminder on how to obtain your fan club tickets at the venue the day of the show.

It's very simple. Please bring the following items with you to the Ten Club will-call ticket window.

  1. YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER. This number contains your member number/Ten Club ID number, and it determines where your seats will be located.

  2. A PHOTO ID. School cards are okay.

  3. A BIG-ASS SMILE ON YOUR FACE. Everyone is looking forward to seeing you!

The Ten Club will-call windows will be divided up by member number, so make sure you are in the correct line when you present your confirmation number to the person at the window.

We want this to go as smoothly and as quickly as possible for you, so please be prepared with all of the necessary information.

If you received more than one of the confirmation letters for the same show, assume one is a duplicate and you will only receive 2 tickets to the show.

Confirmations are still being sent out so if you have not received a confirmation letter yet, please, please, please have a little patience and only contact us if it is one week before the show and you are still without your confirmation.

Thanks and we'll see you there!
