May 18, 2004 - Mike McCready, Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard and other artists autograph custom guitar and drum for eBay auction benefitting CCFA.
Left Hand Smoke, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready & Friends (UFO Tribute Band), Brad, surprise guest Eddie Vedder, and Vast Capital performed a benefit concert for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) to a sold-out crowd at Seattle's Showbox on Friday, May 14.
All of the artists who performed at the sold-out CCFA benefit show autographed a custom-made guitar and snare drum, which will be auctioned off on eBay beginning today, May 18, at 5pm PT. The auctions will end at 5pm PT on May 24. Proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Northwest Chapter of the CCFA. For more information, visit eBay, or www.pearljam.com.
Donated by Eric DeVine of DeVine Guitars in Maui, Hawaii (www.devineguitars.com), the custom steel string acoustic guitar is hand crafted of only the top quality luthier grade woods and retails for $3,300. Also from Maui, the custom snare drum, hand made and tuned to the highest quality, was donated by Gabriele Sandys and retails for $1,900.
The mission of the CCFA, which was founded in 1967, is to cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support. For more information on the organization, please call the Northwest Chapter of CCFA at (877) 703-6900, or visit www.ccfa.org.
These sold-out benefit concert and eBay auctions are the latest in a series of events Mike is taking part in to raise awareness and support for CCFA. Last year at the annual CCFA spring benefit luncheon, Mike served as keynote speaker, revealing his personal 20-year battle with Crohn's and ulcerative colitis, chronic and serious inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract that are collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease.

January 22, 2004 - 2003 Holiday single/newsletter
Our 2003 Holiday single for current fan club members...better late than never. Even though it took us longer
than we wanted, we've finalized our plan for the single. It will be "Reach
Down" featuring Chris Cornell from the October 28th Santa Barbara show and
"I Believe in Miracles" from the October 22nd Benaroya Hall show. For those
of you who haven't heard this version of "...Miracles", it is the first
performance of an acoustic, re-arranged mid-tempo version of the Ramones
song. "Reach Down" essentially reunites Temple of the Dog in its original
line-up, with Chris and Eddie harmonizing, and Mike, Stone, Jeff and Matt
playing their asses off.
The artwork features an original drawing by Jeff Ament. We'll be sharing
that with you as soon as it's ready.
We'll also be sending out Newsletter #22 along with the single. Please make sure your mailing address is updated. You can update your personal information and edit your member profile at http://kapu.doublesecret.net/consume/. If you are having problems updating your records, just e-mail:
address@tenclub.net with your correct mailing address. It looks like we'll start sending them out sometime towards the end of February, so sit tight. Good things come to
those who wait.
