Santana---one of the most influential bands in rock music. The ambassadors of "World Beat" before their time, in 1969 Santana proved to the audience at Woodstock what local music fans in the Mission district of San Francisco had known for some time---Santana's combination of rock and latin music was not only completely new, but powerful and absolutely riveting as well.

By the time they had reached Woodstock, Santana had already been through two incarnations (the second version of the band is captured on "Live At The Fillmore '68" (CK/CT 64860), but the third line-up, recorded on the first three albums for Columbia Records, was catapulted to rock superstardom.

The 30th Anniversary of Santana's signing to Columbia Records is celebrated with the release of new Expanded Edition versions of their legendary first three albums and the very first "Best of" spanning Santana's Columbia Records career!
