hey - this is Steven Bernstein in my first official foray into cyberspace. Sex Mob has been sweating every Friday this summer at Tonic, a new club in New York. The club is on Norfolk St. between Delancy and Rivington. I'm sure it has a number address, and it may be #107, but I'm not sure. We play at midnight and they don't serve alcohol, so make sure your chemical balance is cool before you arrive. The scene has been good there , so we're going to keep playing through September. Your hostess is named Mellissa, be nice to her, she's a newcomer to the entertainment business. We need some rowdy folks to come down though, its hard to play a late night show to people who just want to listen. I mean , I like music as much as the next guy, but we are the Sex Mob, and we don't mind a little noise, or a lot of noise.

The album is out and of course the critics love it in NY, but what about the real world? Please buy a copy for your Grandparents or your junior high school gym teacher, not only will it help bring world peace, but also Monica. Have you heard about the new theme restaurant in times square ? Planet Rudy , you get to shoot squeegee guys, arrest people for drinking beer, random stops for innocent motorists, all while eating hamburgers. A great way to experience the new New York

Back to reality - I hope you realize that the Sex Mob album is the first album in recorded history to feature the slide trumpet - you can start a new section in your collection. The sound of the CD is the work of Scotty (Hard) Harding. He's my man, is totally ill and knows no bounds in his quest for the sickest possible sounds. The entire album was recorded live in two nights, and Scott twisted it all into what you hear today. Special mention must be made of the contributions of John Medeski, some of which you hear in his incredible organ playing, some of which I can't legally mention. Adam Levy played all the guitar solos, he's another great musician, though he left NY for sunny California 2 months after the album was recorded.London McDaniels plays the rhythm guitar, you here him at the top of Macarena playing one of his patented super chunky doodoo riffs.

Let me tell you more about Scotty Hard . He has worked with all the show business greats, from Wu Tang Clan to Salif Keita to MMW. I met him at a session Prince Paul was producing and thought he was obnoxious, and I still feel that way.

Speaking of show business Briggan Krauss is the saxophone player of the post-industrial age. In 10 years everyone will sound like him, until then he must simply drink beer and go on dates. And speaking of dates bass whiz kid Tony has the thickest fingers since John Holmes , as well as the spirit of Jimmy Blanton and the undergarments of Larry Graham. And what can be said about Kenny, ruler of the universe, except that he is the most gentle and ruffest of all tub beaters, and was genetically spliced from the f@resk@n of Dennis Rodman.

Come see us live, I promise you it is like seeing Louis Armstrong's Hot Five in 1928 or at least a road show version of Starlight Express, and we're louder and cheaper than going to a movie. SPREAD THE LOVE SPREAD THE LOVE SPREAD THE LOVE
