Havana-born Gloria Fajardo moved to Miami at age two, met Emilio Estefan, Jr. while in high school and joined his Miami Latin Boys (changing their name to Miami Sound Machine) in 1974. MSM issued six Spanish albums before their first all-English effort, 1986's Primitive Love, spawned four charting singles. "Anything For You" came from that collection's chart-topping 1988 follow-up, Let It Loose. Its immense, across-the-board popularity turned Estefan into a solo superstar-one whose concerts continue to generate caliente salsa sparks.
