  By the early 1960s, singers from Tony Bennett's era who couldn't adjust to the new demands of the pop world were either fading away or moving into the more adult pastures of clubs, casinos and modest album sales. Bennett had been off the charts for over two years when he recorded this sentimental paean to the "city by the Bay." Following this triumphant comeback (even more than Sinatra) from 1963 on he introduced the best of the new non-rock material available: "I Wanna Be Around," "The Good Life," "When Joanna Loved Me," "Who Can I Turn To," "The Shadow Of Your Smile." Quite a second act.
