SME to Utilize Kyte for Online and Mobile Video Production, Distribution and Monetization
SAN FRANCISCO – January 26, 2009 – Kyte (www.kyte.com), the universal digital media platform, today announced that it has reached an agreement with Sony Music Entertainment (SME) in the United States and in Germany to provide an online and mobile video platform which will enable SME’s artists and labels to engage with fans through the creation and distribution of digital content that can be monetized.
SME artists such Franz Ferdinand, John Legend and Raheem DeVaughn are using the Kyte Platform’s flexible production tools to provide their fans with various types of content – from authentic, raw video streamed live from a mobile phone while on tour, in the studio, or during a live performance – to professionally produced video that is uploaded to Kyte channels on various websites. John Legend recently used Kyte Mobile Producer to bring fans behind the scenes as he and fellow celebrities met President Barack Obama at an Inauguration Concert on the National Mall in Washington D.C.
Fans are actively using SME Kyte channels and engaging deeply through unique interactive features, including multimedia chat, and the ability to comment and rate Kyte shows.
“Kyte allows me to connect with my fans in a much deeper way by sharing special, behind the scenes moments,” said John Legend. “I was able to bring my fans right on stage with me at the ‘We Are One’ Inauguration concert, and they were able to experience the excitement that all of us on stage felt as we met our new President.”
“Sony Music Entertainment is a leader in the industry and we are very excited that it has adopted the Kyte Platform,” said Daniel Graf, CEO of Kyte. “Their artists’ Kyte channels have been a huge success, with fans connecting with the artists they love in authentic and meaningful ways.”
