  • Our Position Against U.S. Asian-American and Pacific Islander Violence
  • Feb 25, 2021

Like many of you, we have been horrified by the recent hate crimes and violent rhetoric in the United States against Asian-American and Pacific Islanders. We believe everyone should find this type of violence unacceptable and to sit and witness these assaults in silence only adds insult to injury. We at Sony Music Group have been reaching out to our partners, including APIA Vote, to help us develop resources and actionable measures we can promote to address these injustices. Part of our civic responsibility is to maintain an open dialogue and follow through on our commitment to support equal rights and celebrate diversity.

Sony Music Group stands in solidarity with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander community in condemning these hate crimes and inexcusable actions. We and our Social Justice task forces are empowered to work with our partners and address these types of racism, inequity and injustice all around the world.

For more information, we encourage you to visit Stop AAPI Hate to learn how you can help fight this violence. If you believe you are the victim of a hate crime or believe you have witnessed a hate crime in the U.S., you can report the incident here.

We remain committed to advancing inclusion and belonging for people of all races.
