Journalist and Executive Producer Bijan Stephen Hosts New Podcast Series That Examines the Most Explosive Stories You Never Knew
The First Episode Is Available Now
New York, NY – November 16, 2021 – Campside Media, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, today announced the launch of Eclipsed, a new narrative history podcast that dives into the fascinating stories hidden in the shadows of history. Hosted by journalist and executive producer Bijan Stephen, Eclipsed is a show about events most people have forgotten — or maybe never even knew about to begin with — and features original reporting with eyewitnesses from the time.
The first three episodes dive into the story of an up-and-coming Australian pop star in the 1960s, Cathy Wayne, who was tragically shot and killed on stage while playing a set for American Marines at Da Nang during the Vietnam War. The murder of an Australian woman on an American base would have been world news, except that it happened on July 20, 1969 — the day of the moon landing. By interviewing some of the biggest names in Australian entertainment at the time, Stephen explores how Wayne ended up on that fateful stage and why most people never knew about it.
The series also spotlights a disappearing lake in Louisiana, the two brothers whose obsession with precious metal nearly crashed the global economy, and the three Americans who went to the Moscow Olympics in defiance of Jimmy Carter’s boycott.
“I’m excited and honored to be able to host a show like this one, where we get to take our listeners on some incredible narrative journeys,” said host and executive producer Bijan Stephen. “We’ve got a lot of really cool stories coming up. Tune in! I mean, what could it hurt?”
The series is hosted and executive produced by writer Bijan Stephen (The Verge, The Believer), and written and executive produced by narrative journalist Michael Canyon Meyer (American Scandal, Business Wars) for Campside Media.
