- Power: The Maxwells, New Podcast on the Rise & Fall of Media Tycoon Robert Maxwell, Premieres Today
- Jan 12, 2021
NEW YORK – January 12, 2021 – Acclaimed podcast production house Somethin’ Else, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, today announced the debut of its new podcast Power: The Maxwells. Hosted by investigative journalist Tara Palmeri, the show dives into mysterious details of Ghislaine Maxwell’s life and a figure who continues to loom large over her… Not Jeffery Epstein, but media tycoon, Robert Maxwell, her father. The first episode is available now (with new episodes releasing every Tuesday).
Ghislaine Maxwell was a fixture of Manhattan high society, a jet-setter, an international party girl photographed with the rich and famous, friends with princes and presidents, and a keeper of secrets. But even as she sits in a Brooklyn jail awaiting trial, over a year after the mysterious death of her disgraced partner, billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, she remains a real enigma. But this isn’t the first time that the death of a man in her life has been shrouded in mystery. In 1991, Robert Maxwell went missing from the deck of his yacht off the Canary Islands. No one on board heard him fall. Hours later his body was pulled from the Atlantic Ocean. Ghislaine’s theory: her father was murdered.
Palmeri said, “Ghislaine Maxwell has been an enigma to me. It’s hard to wrap my head around why a woman with everything in the world — money, power, connections — would allegedly recruit underage girls for a sex offender. And then I learned about her father Robert Maxwell and realized that to understand Ghislaine we had to know where she came from.”
Listeners can subscribe to Power: The Maxwells on all major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Stitcher.
